Hey! I have just finished watching Mismatched Season 3, and it’s been one wild ride, but not exactly the good kind. It was supposed to tie everything up neatly, give a little depth to things, and maybe some sweetness here and there. Instead, it turned into a messy, confusing mix of pointless drama, poorly written characters, and just totally nonsensical plotlines. So let’s get this over with. Good: The bad: Totally confusing.

The Good (Let’s get this off on the right foot)
Alright, to be honest, there were definitely some cool things to appreciate this season. Anmol and Vinny’s storyline really stood out as one of the most real arcs in the show. Watching Anmol grow as a character while still keeping his classic bluntness was pretty awesome. Their chemistry felt super natural, and even with some bumps along the way, they became a couple you actually wanted to cheer for.
Another cool thing was Harsh. His chill vibe totally balanced out the crazy chaos of the show. He was like the calm green forest during a wild storm, and honestly, I really wish we got to see more of him.
The attempt to include social issues, like trans representation through Rith and Anmol’s struggles with disabilities, was commendable. While the execution was questionable, the intention to address important themes was evident.
The Bad (Where Do I Even Start?)
Dimple’s Character
Dimple. Oh man, Dimple. She was always the type who appeared very ambitious and intelligent; this mismatched season 3 was totally a trainwreck. She seemed completely insecure, selfish, and emotionally unstable in all possible ways. Honestly, it was really tiring to see how she made everything complicated with Rishi.
So, about Rishi—how does he even deal with her? He’s always going the extra mile to make her feel special, and she just keeps coming up with ways to criticize or make him feel guilty. That long-distance relationship they had for three years seemed super one-sided—it was totally Rishi doing all the work while Dimple just stayed… you know, Dimple.
And seriously, don’t even get me started on the engagement. Ending it because “it wasn’t working” without really talking things through with Rishi or her mom? That was just super immature.
The Messy Plotlines
If I had to explain this season, I would say it is basically messy. The scriptwriters were making a new issue pop every other episode solely to keep everything dramatic. Never was such depth or resolutions for the conflicts.
For example, the engagement subplot was just so abrupt and unnecessary. They’re just 21—why rush into something so serious? The app storyline was another disappointment. Dimple’s AI app created to deal with her father’s death was totally unrealistic and bad. Grief is tough, sure, but that idea was pretty far-fetched and didn’t feel like something emotionally resonant at all.
Then there’s Rith. Good idea to have a trans character, but making them the antagonist? Not cool. It’s like the writers wanted representation but didn’t think it through. The hacking subplot was completely absurd—who hacks an app to prove their identity?

The Zeenat-Sid Arc
Man, Zeenat and Sid was really confusing. They just could not communicate properly and honestly, all that Sid did didn’t make much sense. One day he wants to adopt a kid, and then the next he says he does not want any kids at all, which absolutely crushed Zeenat. The break-up was unexpected and just really forced.
Cringe Factor
Hey, let’s talk about Celina for a second? The constant jumping back and forth between Hindi and English was just super frustrating. Seriously, pick a language already! It just felt like they were trying really hard to make her quirky but it just wasn’t there.
And Krish? Total disappointment in this mismatched season 3. I mean, earlier seasons had a lot of depth in his character, but this season, he’s just some angsty dude with daddy issues.
My Take:
Mismatched Season 3 had it all going, but the actual delivery of meaning with relatable characters fell in almost every aspect. The show could not have worse communication between its characters, as well as completely unnecessary drama and rushed endings. So, among all the chaos, a few stood out: the real relationship of Anmol and Vinny, Harsh’s chill vibe, and their attempt at dealing with social issues. Honestly though, these little victories just didn’t cut it enough to save the season.
If you are a fan of the series, you may still enjoy some parts, but don’t get your hopes up. Honestly, it was a letdown for a show that started so strong.
Here’s to hoping the creators pick up on this season’s screw-ups if they decide to make a Season 4 (but I’m not counting on it).
So, what do you think—did you love it, hate it, or feel as mixed up as I was?
